Many of the hamsters have now been adopted. For current adoptable hamster please visit Rabbit Rescue
On October 25, 2008 there were a number of cages full of hamsters left at the entrance to a flea market. Kids were poking at cages and pestering what turned out to be 4 babies and 5 adult hamsters. After quickly getting in contact with Rabbit Rescue, we were given the go ahead to bring them in and were able to get all of them into fosterhomes.
There was one male, one nursing pregnant female with her four babies, one pregnant female and another female that was thankfully not pregnant. There was a note left on the cages explaining how to breed hamsters so obviously this is what they were doing. The two pregnant females had another 10 and 13 babies bringing the total to 32 hamsters that these "people" had the audacity to leave for someone else to care for.
